Teen Programs

State of Ohio driver education requirements for teens under the age of 18:

Teens must complete a driver education course that includes 24 hours of classroom instruction and 8 hours of behind-the-wheel training. Driving Schools of Ohio offers drivers education to Ohio teens for both classroom and behind the wheel. Students can take courses either in person, virtually through Zoom or Online to complete the 24 hours. After they have completed the classroom hours they are required to complete 8 hours of driving instruction with a licensed instructor. These hours are administered 2 hours at a time; they will need 4 lessons total to meet the requirements.

They need to complete 50 hours of supervised driving practice with a parent or guardian, including 10 hours of night driving. The State of Ohio requires this time to be logged on an affidavit form. This is collected when they go for their road test to obtain their driver's license.
